Cucumber water lemon mint

Practising yoga when it’s hot!

A super simple ayurvedic recipe : a drink that is ideal during the Barcelona Yoga Conference as it’s very hot!

It’s important during times of hot weather to avoid dehydration. It is also a way to hydrate the skin and brighten tit when the climate is less extreme.

Cucumber water lemon mint

You need:

– 1L of filtered water

– Juice of 1/2 lemon

– A dozen mint leaves chopped

– A large handful of diced cucumber

Pour water into your bottle of water. Pour the lemon juice, mint leaves & diced cucumber. Let stand at least 30 minutes, ideally 1 hour or more. DON’T CHILL IT. In Ayurveda, we recommend to don’t chiil it because we ingest food or cold drinks damage agni, the digestive fire and also disrupts our thermal control system (which is not desirable in case of hot weather). The drink should be drunk at room temperature (do not add ice afterwards either …). To drink, filter cucumber pieces and pre mint leaves. Sip the drink throughout the day.

Enjoy & have wonderful experiences during the BYC 2015!
